StockX Announces 2025’s Biggest Sneaker Resale Trends

StockX knows not only which sneaker models are the “ones to watch” in 2026, but also the shoes that could dominate this year’s holiday wish lists around the world.

The company on Wednesday disclosed its latest quarterly report called “Big Facts: 2025 Trends” that highlight the brands, products and search trend in the secondary market over the last year.

StockX’s market data gives us a front-row seat to global shifts in taste and culture. From the rise of performance basketball to the continued dominance of slim models and runner-inspired silhouettes, these trends reflect the ways people are expressing themselves through what they wear and collect,” StockX CEO Greg Schwartz said.

The report said that running silhouettes still resonate with buyers, with Asics continuing to be the market leader in the category. It noted that sales are up 45 percent year-over-year and that the Gel-1130 in black/pure silver holds the top spot as the best-selling sneaker on StockX in 2025. Other running brands now garnering attention in the secondary market include Brooks, up 1,508 percent, Mizuno, up 148 percent, and Saucony, up 38 percent.

For performance basketball, Nike’s Ja 3 was the brand’s No. 1 best-selling new model from this year, followed by A’ja Wilson’s Nike A’One. The No. 1 best-selling performance basketball silhouette overall in 2025 remains the Nike Kobe 6 Protro, which saw a sales increase of more than 100 percent from year-ago levels. Also making StockX news was Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Converse Shai 001, which came in as the No. 1 new 2025 model from Converse — it also gave Converse its biggest sales month on StockX since March 2022.

The slim sneaker silhouette continued to trend in 2025. New Balance’s new 204L, introduced earlier this year, is now the brand’s No. 1 best-selling new model on the resale platform. Nike’s Total 90 3 is the No. 3 best-selling new 2025 model from Swoosh.

The year also saw the popularity of the Mary Jane and ballet-inspired sneaker, with Samba Jane — introduced in June — as Adidas‘ best-selling new model of the year, while Onitsuka Tiger’s Tgrs also reached the same milestone for the brand. Nike’s Air Rift model saw a 21 percent year-over-year sales gain, with a Skims collaboration set for 2026.

On the ballet-inspired front, the Adidas’ Bad Bunny-endorsed Ballerina ranked third among the brand’s new 2025 models. StockX analysts concluded that the slim sneaker trend show no signs of slowing down next year, based on recent hits such as the Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe and an upcoming collaboration from Onitsuka Tiger x Versace.

For holiday, StockX analysts found that the most “favorited” sneakers worldwide include the Air Jordan 4, Air Jordan 5 and Asics Gel-1130 models, which they expect will be the most sought-after gifts this season. Also high on the list were Jordan 3, Jordan 1 Low and Nike Ja 3.

And among the most coveted collabs, the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft Mars Yard Shoe 3.0 has an average resale price of $1,075, followed by the Pharrell x Adidas Virginia Adistar Jellyfish in orange at $784 and the Awake NY x Jordan 5 Retro Arctic Pink at $720 to round out the top three. In searches, the Levi’s x Nike collab sparked a surge in consumer searches that was up 2,591 percent.

The company in April introduced a new Verified Sellers program to cut down the time it takes for some of its sneakers to reach customers. And in June, it said it weeded out nearly $10 million worth of counterfeit sneakers in 2024. Last December, longtime CEO Scott Cutler stepped down and was succeeded by Greg Schwartz.
